Overview

Responsible to present the company in KZN region and assisting the Divisional Director. This is a secondary function in addition to the employee’s primary responsibilities in the technical environment as an Engineer or Project Management professional. Building and managing project teams, building relationships with clients, business development initiatives and ensuring quality control throughout project life cycles are central to this.

Min Requirements, Duties & Experience


Min Requirements
1) Minimum 10 years as a Structural Engineer
2) 10 - 15 years relevant experience in Consulting Engineering, of which 5 to 7 years were in a senior managerial role
3) Private and public sector stakeholder management
4) Strong track record of achieving results in a high-pressure environment


Duties
1) Assisting Divisional Director providing policy advice, co-ordinating policy advice inputs and overseeing the management of the office including long-term planning, day-to-day operations, and adherence to corporate standards and compliance obligations as part of the Business Management System        Procedures
2) Driving profitability targets for the office
3) Managing the optimization of resources
4) Understanding the business management policy and procedures
5) Managing Division Risk and Quality Improvement Programme
6) Efficient people and financial management
7) Maintaining discipline standards
8) Developing and applying professional expertise in project, portfolio, programme & facilities management
9) Strategic planning: Adapting and innovating
10) Taking accountability for the effective running of the regional office
11) Communication and managing diversity
12) Policy co-ordination and advisory support
13) Representation and administration

Relevant Experience
1) Ability to grasp a range of complex issues, to prioritise, plan and exercise initiative
2) Working knowledge of various forms of contracts, viz. JBCC, NEC, FIDIC, etc.
3) Ability to operate with minimal technical and management supervision
4) Statutory and industry standards in project management
5) business management
6) implementing strategic decisions
7) ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards
8) Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
9) Manage teams and external consultants
10) Good working knowledge of WIP reports
